Can I travel to Qatar now?

As a blogger living in Qatar, I must sincerely warn you: I really don't recommend coming to Qatar for a trip in the next month! It's not because of the weather, but due to the various restrictions during Ramadan. The business hours of restaurants, attractions, and shopping malls are significantly adjusted. It's hard to find a place to eat during the day, and many activities are restricted. It will seriously affect your travel experience! If you want to have a great time, it's better to avoid this period! ❌ Eating during the day is a huge social faux pas: During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. Most restaurants are closed during the day, and the food areas in shopping malls are all covered with curtains. Even if there are places open, you have to eat in secret. It's really torturous!! ❌ All tourist attractions are "useless": Major museums and attractions either close or shorten their opening hours. Don't think that avoiding eating in front of locals is enough. Many places explicitly prohibit foreigners from eating in public! Make sure to check the latest regulations before traveling to avoid a wasted trip. ❌ Hotel experience is terrible: During Ramadan, hotel prices are indeed very attractive! But be aware that facilities such as restaurants, executive lounges, swimming pools, and spas may be closed or have limited services during certain times. Moreover, room service fees often increase significantly, which may not be cost-effective. Make sure to confirm the specific policies before checking in to avoid affecting your experience. ❌ Social activities are completely paralyzed: Want to watch a performance? Visit street markets? Participate in various activities? Sorry, they're all canceled! There are basically no entertainment activities during the day, and although it's a bit more lively at night, it mainly revolves around Ramadan traditions. Restaurants and cafes are crowded during dinner time, and you have to wait in long lines to get a meal. For those who like independent travel and rich social experiences, this month is really not friendly! 💡 Smart travel tips If you really have to come during Ramadan, make sure to be fully prepared: ✅ Download Talabat (food delivery app) ✅ Choose a hotel with a kitchen or one that provides room service ✅ Be mentally prepared to go hungry (it's hard to find food during the day) ✅ Try to arrange your itinerary for the evening (but attractions will be crowded) ✅ Carry water with you but drink it discreetly (don't drink in public!) ✅ Reserve at least 30% extra time when taking a taxi (drivers may need to pray) Otherwise, this trip might turn into a survival challenge! 📢 Honest opinion: Ramadan is indeed an excellent window to observe Middle Eastern culture, but it's really not the best time to travel! As someone who has experienced Ramadan in Qatar, I sincerely suggest: Wait until after Ramadan to come! Your experience value will double! Otherwise, you'll most likely encounter difficulties in finding food, closed attractions, paralyzed social activities, and various time restrictions, which will definitely affect your travel happiness! Hurry up and forward this to your friends who plan to visit Qatar soon. Save the children! 🆘
