Has DJI Become the Biggest Winner Amid the Tariff War?
After the United States announced additional tariffs on China on April 2nd, the price of DJI Mavic 3 Pro on the US official website soared from 13,888 yuan to 18,500 yuan, an increase of 33%. However, in the electronic market of Manhattan, New York, there were a large number of "unopened Hong Kong version" drones, priced at only 14,500 yuan, 21% lower than the official price. These drones entered the United States through the Mexican border "low-altitude crossing" - a modified DJI Matrice 4 drone can carry 30 Mini 3 Pro drones and fly at a height of 50 meters close to the ground to avoid radar monitoring. According to the data from the Los Angeles Port, the number of drone smuggling cases in the first three weeks of April increased by 270% compared with the same period last year. Among the drones seized by the customs, 78% were DJI products.
